Email Marketing Manager

Job Location: New York, NY

We currently have an opening for an Email Marketing Manager to join the Consumer Marketing team

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and document email campaign requirements with client & expert marketers.
  • Recommend email campaign designs and testing strategies based on your knowledge of marketing technologies and best practices
  • Create detailed segmentation plans that support Email marketing campaigns
  • Collaborate with Marketing Analyst to execute and automate segmentation plan
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure that marketing campaigns launch on-time and according to plan
  • Conduct quality assurance on campaigns before they go live, and then monitor performance once they are implemented
  • Understand dependencies between Email campaign efforts and other marketing initiatives (e.g., cross-channel launch plans)
  • Work with business and IT partners to thoroughly understand marketing channels and troubleshoot problems
  • Ensure that marketing programs are in compliance with various privacy rules, regulations and internal communication policies
  • Work closely with database team to understand and document data catalog
  • Manage and improve key marketing processes 
  • Research and maintain competitor emails
  • Stay abreast of email compliance, industry stats and developments
  • Communicate with internal and external creative teams campaign objectives and creative strategies for the development of Email communications
  • HTML coding of emails if resources are unavailable

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 2-4 years of email management in an e-commerce or similar environment
  • Develop, execute and manage strategic and tactical elements of the email marketing campaign
  • Collaborate with client and expert marketing groups to establish email marketing initiatives, including campaign objectives, messaging and potential concepts
  • Create and develop targeted and trigger-based email campaigns, delivering tailored marketing messages to segments of the email list
  • Explore additional ways to serve the customer by recommending new campaign types
  • Develop and maintain best practices documentation
  • Continually develop, measure and optimize campaigns using A/B and multivariate testing
  • Provide support to the client and expert marketing groups who rely on email marketing as revenue channel; communicate strategy and results while working with departments to understand and optimize
  • Manage the mailing list; develop and execute strategy to grow list by increasing opt-ins and improving retention
  • Monthly reporting / analytics
  • Prior experience integrating an email provider system is a plus
  • Ability to deploy, manage tracking and analysis for email marketing campaigns
  • Ability to drive multiple projects simultaneously and work with cross-functional teams.
  • Capable of exploring outside the box and meaningful alternatives and translate into actionable recommendations
  • Entrepreneurial drive to build a program that will have a major impact on company bottom line
  • Ability to respond to frequent pressure to meet deadlines when work speed and sustained accuracy are paramount
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of HTML
  • Ability to work well independently & within a team environment
  • Team player that is passionate about what they do
  • PC proficiency and solid working knowledgeof Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
